Complaint made to GTR/Southern
Update - 15th February 2026
Thanks to pressure from our very active local Independent Councillor, Pat Wiltshire Council officials arranged to flail the bramble to the north of the footpath and uncovered a drain. Sadly this is higher than the flood water so would not clear the problem even if rodded through. However that afternoon Pat met with Aaron Hinton who is the Operations Manager South for APCOA PARKING UK who manage the car park. The water is collecting in their car park – directly over two drain covers that are sitting under 1 foot of water. He has flagged this up to get the drains inspected as it appears they are blocked. He will update us as soon as this is done.
We believe the lack of adequate drainage in the station car park and the slope of the ground towards the footpath means that water runs off the tarmac into the wooded area and eventually floods the footpath.
The new pond dug by Mole Valley Council as a solution to this problem appears to be serving no purpose and doesn't act as a solution and at the moment is only half full.
