The Residents' Association has been given early notice of three sets of work on the rails and the Level Crossing that will unfortunately involve part closure or full closure of the Crossing. As the August restrictions or closures will be over a potentially busy weekend for travel, residents should please plan ahead if their vehicles will be required for travel at times when the Crossing will potentially be closed.

*The open crossing will be via a temporary single file bridge with traffic light controls in place.

Network Rail will  be writing to the emergency services to make them aware of their closure plans and temporary bridge and the emergency services will have contact numbers for NR's teams on site. If the emergency services require access we will immediately stop work and install the temporary bridge which is suitable for the largest fire engine.

At the request of the Residents' Association, Network Rail, GTR and APCOA  have agreed to the same plan we implemented last time round. There will be approximately 120x spaces for Ashtead residents to park free of charge. Attached map outlines the area where Ashtead residents can park in green.

The dates and times residents can park free of charge in the car park are as follows. The Automatic Number Plate Recognition System in the car park will be switched off during this time so there is no requirement to buy a ticket or log their vehicle registration.

We plan to have mini-bus which residents can call to request a pickup from the home to the station. Phone numbers for this service will be shared nearer the time via letter and signage at the crossing.

Network Rail will send out a letter (See below) confirming these details asap and will send a follow up letter with any further detail around T-1 week from the first level crossing closure.
