Strictly no fires or BBQs
Ashtead Common is a place of national significance because of its 1,100 ancient oak pollards and the wildlife they support. Fire represents the biggest single risk to these magnificent Tudor trees and consequently a strict no fires and barbeques rule is enforced.
If you see someone having a fire or barbeque on Ashtead Common, please contact the rangers on 01372 279488 (or the Fire Service on 999 if the blaze is uncontained or has the potential to spread).
