Why should I join the ARA?

Ashtead Residents’ Association (ARA) is independent of all political parties; we act solely in the interests of Ashtead and its residents without allegiance to, or at the behest of, any other body.  The level of our membership determines the weight of our voice when making representation on behalf of residents to statutory bodies, such as Mole Valley District Council (MVDC), Surrey County Council (SCC) and the forthcoming Unitary Authority, as well as to third-party service providers - including transport and utility companies.

As you are already a member of the local Ashtead community, please consider joining the Ashtead Residents Association to support the work we do on your behalf. All members of the ARA committee are unpaid volunteers who are simply passionate about protecting the interests of our village. Your £2.50 annual membership fee is just a small token towards the running cost of the work ARA does including: access to a website, opinion surveys on important topics, online access to The Ashtead Resident newsletter, and robustly representing your interests with local councillors, MVDC and SCC and wider service providers.

Annual subscription: £2.50 per household

You may pay your annual subscription of £2.50 online here, without a processing fee, using any credit or debit card that you have. Your payment covers all members of your household. Once you have subscribed you will be sent your log in details for our ARA Members Area website where you will be able to view ARA specific content and to take part in all our online opinion surveys on matters of importance to all residents of Ashtead.

If you really require to pay by cash, please contact the Membership Secretary via the link below giving your address and phone number. The Membership Secretary will then arrange for one of our Road Stewards to visit you, help you to register your details and to collect your subscription.
