Of the £3.5 million being invested to improve playgrounds across Mole Valley to create modern and inclusive play spaces over the coming years, £901,000 has been allocated to the Children’s Play Area and a Multi-use Games Area at the QEII Recreation Ground.

The dates for local consultations with residents have now been announced. On-site times and dates at the QEII Recreation Ground will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 8th September and 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on 12th September.

These will be residents’ best chance to shape the facilities and designs with Arkwood Landscaping, which has been appointed by the development contractor, Proludic, to understand local requirements and make recommendations.

There will be a further opportunity to meet the Consultants at the Mole Valley Arts Alive event in the Swan Centre, Leatherhead on 19 September from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. This will also include consultations on sites in Bookham and Leatherhead also being conducted for Proludic by Arkwood.

Exact details of the siting of the QEII venues will be advised when received from MVDC.

When Arkwood have made their recommendations Proludic will work in partnership with MVDC to complete the designs, finalise and install the new play spaces keeping local communities involved and informed throughout the process.

The ARA will continue to push for the fullest consultation to ensure that the best possible result is achieved from this rare allocation of funds.

It is understood that upgrades and refurbishment will only be carried out on one children’s play area in Mole Valley at a time whilst trying to avoid school holiday periods.
