17th Annual Ashtead Spring Clean
The Annual Spring Clean took place on Saturday 2nd April.
There were 7 meeting points. They were:-
Ashtead Station Car Park
Outside the Football Club, near Ashtead Pond
Outside Greville School
On the Corner of Barnet Wood Lane and West Farm Avenue
Outside St Andrews School
On the Corner of Craddocks Avenue and the A24
The meeting time for the above places was 9.45am to allow for a 10am start and we finished at 11am. Sites were well attended, though not so many as last year when we were in lockdown. Perhaps then people needed an excuse for more exercise. We had help from a group of enthusiastic Brownies who scoured the Wood Field for litter. Well done everyone!
After the event, Jo Fuller, the landlady of the Brewery Inn generously agreed to provide tea, coffee and snacks and everyone participating was welcomed there. Many thanks Jo.
Thanks must go to Lynda Coburn and Jean Bradley for their organisation of the event. Thankyou to to Industraheat for allowing us to stack the bags near their offices, and thanks to MVDC for agreeing to make special collections to collect everything.
