The planned work on the road bridge embankment has had to be postponed we are told due to Network Rail having concerns and requesting further plans (partly as more investigation and digging showed the embankment was more complex in its make up and what was under it) and that stopped completion in August.

The idea to do work this last half-term was also abandoned due to National Highways works on the Network particularly at the A3/M25 Junction and a series of other closure of roads. As a consequence SCC could not get a Road Closure.

We gather Tesco and B&Q put the kibosh on works leading up to Christmas so it now appears the work might start in the February 2024 half-term - but don't hold your breath.
