There is a new project by Surrey County Council to draw up a Local Heritage List for Mole Valley.
Local Heritage Lists can include any building, monument, site, place, area or landscape which has heritage significance but which are not listed buildings or recognised by another designation. The project is seeking to identify and include local heritage assets most valued by their local communities.
You can find more information, including how you can submit nominations, here:
Nominations are now open and the deadline is 5pm on Tuesday 16 November.
This email has been sent to representatives of Parish Councils, Residents Associations and other relevant organisations listed on MVDC’s Local Plan database. Although the Local List project is not part of the Local Plan, it will help inform planning policies about development affecting non-designated heritage assets. Therefore, MVDC’s Planning Policy team is working with SCC to engage with local organisations and individuals who seem likely to be able to contribute.
If you have any specific questions about the scope of the project or the nominations process, please contact Charlotte Parker at SCC: Charlotte.Parker@surreycc.gov.uk
