The Surrey County Council Barnett Wood Lane (D2507) Ashtead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
Surrey County Council Propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Barnett Wood Lane (D2507) Ashtead as extends from its junction with (D2578) Green Lane to its junction with (D2645) Taylor Road.
The alternative route will be via Barnett Wood Lane; A245 By-Pass Road; A243 By-Pass Road; Knoll Rounabout; A24 Leatherhead Road / The Street; Woodfield Lane; and Barnett Wood Lane or this same route in reverse. This Order, which will commence on 16 June 2021 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway surfacing and/or highway maintenance works. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
