In 2020 we were unable to carry out our usual spring Clean, due to the first Lockdown.
We are aware that there is a lot of litter around everywhere, particularly on the approach roads, by passes and roundabouts. Obviously, we can't ask volunteers to work anywhere without a pavement, and health and safety regulations mean roads have to be coned off to allow council workers to operate safely, so unfortunately it doesn't happen.
However, we can work in Ashtead, and the provisional date for the Spring Clean is the morning of Saturday April 17th, as long as Covid restrictions allow. Any further information with be published in Active in Ashtead, on the ARA website and in The Ashtead and Leatherhead Local, probably at the end of March
We are grateful to the many Ashtead residents who continue to litter pick as individuals, but please always use a litter picker, gloves and a closed bag, particularly on items such as used masks.
