Following the accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in April 1986, most of the country of Belarus remains contaminated with radioactive elements. The Mid Surrey Link is part of a national charity called the "Chernobyl Children's Life Line". We bring groups of children from Belarus to the Ashtead/Epsom/Leatherhead area in Surrey, providing them with a four-week respite from the after effects of that accident. Our website http://www.midsurreylink.org./ shows you what we have done with groups of children in previous years and explains how you could help. Since the inception of the Mid Surrey Link we have hosted a total of 162 children in ten summer visits and four Christmas visits. Additionally, some of our hosts have invited children back for private repeat visits at other times of year. Would you like to find out how you can help ? Follow the link or contact them right now!
