Once again the Ashtead Residents' Association will be hosting the annual Spring Clean of the village. This year's date is Saturday 31st March between 10am and 11am. Everyone is welcome to come along to help out. The meeting venues are detailed below.
Meet at 09.50 for briefing by a member of the ARA Committee:
• Outside Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall
• At Ashtead Station car park
• Outside the Football Club, near the pond
• Outside The Greville School
• On the corner of Barnett Wood Lane and West Farm Avenue
• Outside St Andrews School
• On the corner of Craddocks Avenue and A24
Please wear strong shoes, and bring thick protective gloves. Bags will be provided.
Bring the bags back to the starting point at 11.00am
Anyone who has a trailer will be especially welcome, as we need to take full rubbish bags back to APMH car park. If you have one available, please call Clare Ansett on 07905 201857 or email the address below.
Or you could work in your own road or immediate area, either on your own, or with a group of neighbours.
For example you may wish to:
• Clean your street name and signs with a bucket of water and a scrubbing brush
• Cut the front hedge or shrubs back to your boundary, if they are overhanging.
• Offer to help elderly or disabled neighbours
If possible, please let us know in advance so that we don't send people to the same place.
Coffee Special
Peter, the Landlord of The Brewery Inn has offered to host a get together in the back rooms of the pub, for anyone who has taken part in the Spring Clean. Tea or coffee will be served from 11.15 free of charge. Please join your committee members there after the work is done, and meet all the other Ashtead residents who care about the Village.

In 2011 we again achieved a great result thanks to those fantastic residents who turned up to help the Residents' Association's 6th Annual Spring Clean. Once again residents of Ashtead showed they are keen on keeping the village looking good and turned up at several venues to collect litter. A great assortment of articles were found including parts of a bicycle and heating equipment!
Below are pictures showing the results of one hour's work in tidyi ng up the village.
Thanks also to Sean from the City of London, Ashtead Common for helping transport the bags from various venues in the village to the APMH Car Park.
Thank you also to Mole Valley District Council for making the collection of the fruits of everyone's endeavours.
Thank you also to the Scouts for their help in collecting rubbish and helping to keep Ashtead a cleaner place to live.
Finally thank you also Ashley, Sarah and the team at the Leg of Mutton and Cauliflower for once again providing welcome tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits for the workers.
