The National Pharmacy Association has issed a warning leaflet regarding the above company who have been sending out letters to patients inviting them to take up their services. Here are a few important facts about Pharmacy2U they feel residents should know:-
a) Pharmacy2U is NOT your local pharmacy and has nothing to do with Buckleys or Lloyds Pharmacies.
b) Pharmacy2U is a distance selling (internet based) pharmacy based on an industrial estate in Leeds.
c) As a patient you cannot have any face-to-face contact with Pharmacy2U. They are only allowed to interact with you on the internet, post or telephone.
d) Prescriptions come to you by Royal Mail and are not delivered to you personally over the counter or by driver.
e) In October 2015 Pharmacy2U was fined £130,000 for selling patients' details to marketing companies. Investigations subsequently found the information was used to target the elderly and vulnerable patients.
f) At Christmas 2015 Pharmacy2U failed to send out prescriptions for 3 weeks leaving many with no essential medication.
g) In February 2017 the Care Quality Commission found Pharmacy2U "not safe, effective or well led."
The Residents' Association believes that residents should continue to support their local Pharmacies where they receive a friendly, personal and caring service.
There is no substitute for your local Pharmacies at Buckleys in The Street and Barnett Wood Lane, and Lloyds Pharmacy in Craddocks Parade.
